Ljubno ob Savinji

At the edge of Alpine foothills lies the town of Ljubno ob Savinji, a once busy timber market. Up until a few years after World War II, Ljubno was the starting point of a timber rafting route down the Savinja River. Now, the river is a haven for anglers, kayakers, and canoeists.

Ljubno attracts guests with recreation possibilities and excellent tourist farms, where visitors are spoilt by hospitable locals. For 60 years the town has been hosting the multi-day timber rafting event Flosarski Bal and has been gaining international recognition as the venue of annual FIS Women Ski Jumping World Cup competitions.
