Discover the pearls of Solčava Region: two paths, two stories of nature
Solčava, a charming village surrounded by the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, is a treasure trove of natural beauty and cultural heritage. Among the many hiking opportunities, two trails stand out, offering visitors a unique experience of nature – the circular trail to the Solčava Yew tree and the trail through the Logar Valley. These two trails lead through forests, past meadows, and alongside babbling brooks, revealing the rich history and traditions of the area.
The Circular Trail to the Solčava Yew Tree
For those who want a peaceful walk in unspoiled nature, the circular route to the Solčava Yew tree is the perfect choice. The moderately demanding trail is suitable for all age groups.

The Solčava’s Yew tree is more than 700 years old and is one of the oldest trees in Slovenia.
The trail starts at the Center Rinka and after a short climb through the forest, signposts will lead you to the magnificent Solčava Yew tree, which has been growing for centuries, despite the unrelenting weather conditions. The entire circuit takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, making for a pleasant break in the midst of nature.
The Natural-Ethnographic Trail through Logar Valley
Longer hikers will love the natural-ethnographic trail through the Logar Valley. This trail is suitable for a full-day trip (5-6 hours) as well as for shorter sections, which you can start at various points along the way. The trail starts at the bridge over the Logar Farm and leads past interesting cultural and natural sights.
Whether you are looking for relaxation in nature, exploring cultural heritage or simply refreshing your spirit, the Solčava Trails will not disappoint you. Discover their beauty and create unforgettable memories with Hike Slovenia Green free navigation.
