Slovenj Gradec

0% GREEN Kaj to pomeni?

This ancient town of Slovenj Gradec, nestled in a valley between the Pohorje Mountains and Mount Uršlja is a cultural center, where the rich legacy of the past meets modern life. While wandering around the old part of the city of Slovenj Gradec, you will be impressed with its original outline and invited to walk along the remains of the highest medieval city walls in Slovenia.

Outdoor enthusiasts will find plenty to explore nearby, from pristine nature trails to many thematic hiking routes of various lengths and difficulties. Cyclists can enjoy an easy, 24 km long ‘Štrekna-Biking trails through Mislinja Valley’. Both hikers and bikers will be rewarded with beautiful nature, slashed here and there with streams from the many springs of Pohorje and Mount Uršlja.

As for the gastronomic part, try the traditional dishes of the region: from rye bread and Koroška curd cheese, to sweet dried pear dumplings (Kločevi nudli) and honey-dough biscuits (gingerbread) in Honey Heaven Perger. The destination also offers pampering in certified sustainable restaurants.
