0% GREEN Kaj to pomeni?

Its rounded peaks and green valleys make Cerkno the perfect playground for hikers and cyclists. In the summer, relief from the heat can be found in natural bathing spots on the Idrijca River, a Natura 2000 protected area. When the Cerkno region is covered with snow, true fun begins at the Cerkno ski resort.

Pristine nature and tranquillity invite you to fully disconnect. Did you know that the world’s oldest musical instrument, a 60.000 years old Neanderthal flute, was discovered in the Divje Babe Cave? Relive this mysterious times of Neanderthals in Slovenia’s first digitised cave. Curious minds will also enjoy the “Termalko’s adventure,” where you can explore the geothermal features of the destination.

In Cerkno you will find one of the most recognisable carnival groups in Slovenia – Laufarija of Cerkno. You can learn all about them on a guided tour at the premises of the Laufarija of Cerkno Association. Discover the culinary side of Cerkno and taste traditional homemade dishes from the Idrija–Cerkno region: Idrija žlikrofi (potato-filled pasta), pajtičke (baked pastries), or smukávc (stew soup).
