This December, Kamnik will once again come alive with a festive atmosphere. From December 1st, the city will be enveloped in magical light and warmth during the traditional lighting of the festive lights. The Kamnik Tourism and Sports Institute and the Municipality of Kamnik invite you to the events of Fairytale Kamnik and experience unforgettable moments in the city. Following the lighting of the first Advent candle, the festivities will continue with the opening of the city ice rink and a concert by the popular Slovenian singer Marko Vozelj.

Time to send a letter to the North Pole

During the city center’s festive celebrations, children can draw pictures and write letters with their wishes for Santa Claus, who is already decorating his sleigh and preparing Christmas gifts with his helpers. They can submit their letters and drawings to Santa’s mailbox, which will be ceremonially opened at the event during the lighting of the Christmas lights. All collected letters will travel to Lapland, where Santa will read them, sift through the wishes, and send official North Pole confirmation to the children before Christmas, acknowledging he has received their letters. Santa’s mailbox awaits you at the Kamnik Tourist Information Center, where it will remain until December 17th. Those who cannot attend the event can submit their letters until then.

Magical decorations at Volčji Potok Arboretum

A special experience awaits you at the Volčji Potok Arboretum—an evening stroll among magical lights that transform the park into a true winter fairy tale. One of this year’s novelties is a ride on an electric train through a colorful tunnel of lights with changing hues.
