Šentjur

0% GREEN Kaj to pomeni?

Šentjur is a town of musical people and a town which has been shaped by the railway passing through. Get to know it with the help of museum collections and its locals. Explore healing water springs and glassmaking traditions. The nearby Slivnica Lake, Resevna Hill, and other places of unspoiled nature provide ample possibilities to go hiking, cycling and fishing.

Set out for panoramic Rifnik above Šentjur, where well-marked paths lead you to a reconstructed prehistoric house and reveal stories of the largest late antique settlement in Slovenia. You’ll also enjoy scenic views along the unique hiking trail “From Bench to Bench,” which invites you to sit on each of its six benches and simply – enjoy. Perfect for adventurers are the outdoor escape room and treasure hunt experiences.

When it’s time to recharge, stop by one of the local tourist farms. If you prefer snacks, don’t miss the Šentjur pumpkin seeds (Šentjurske bučn’ce), complete with playful illustrated instructions for eating these tasty treats. And on colder days, warm up with a cup of Josip’s Ipavec Tea, dedicated to Slovenia’s very own ‘Mozart’ – composer and physician Josip Ipavec.
