Hike Slovenia Green: Discover family-friendly hiking trails in Slovenia

On the Slovenia Green website, we are presenting a new feature that will be appreciated by all lovers of easy hikes, especially those who would like to get their children excited about this healthy way of spending their free time. We have collected Slovenian hiking and thematic trails in one place with descriptions, photos, and GPS route maps. To make your entire trip as ‘green’ as possible, we have given priority to hikes with starting points accessible by public transport. Every step counts.

In April 2025, the ‘Hike Slovenia Green’ page was launched on the Slovenia Green website, intended for all those who would like to get to know our country in the most nature-friendly and also most pristine way: on foot. In cooperation with Slovenia Green-certified destinations and accommodations, we have prepared a diverse set of hikes around Slovenia that lead past natural and cultural landmarks.

Digital maps for beautiful real-world hikes

All trails on the Hike Slovenia Green site contain a digital trail map (GPS track), descriptions and photos, which will make your navigation around Slovenia easy and safe. After registering with your email address, you can download the hiking map via the free Ride With GPS app, which will guide you safely via your smartphone. Most hiking trails are easy, not demanding, suitable for families with children, but it should still be noted that some hikes are longer and may be more demanding in winter.

Extend your stay in a green destination

Nearby guesthouses are also marked, and in almost every destination, you can stretch your one-day trip into two days or an extended weekend with the help of accommodations, tourist farms or campsites. Many of the guesthouses and accommodations have the Slovenia Green certificate, which gives you additional confidence that they care about the environment in their daily business. This way, you will get to know the unspoiled nature, interesting culture, and local cuisine even better.
