Easy family hiking
The trails are technically undemanding, well-paved and marked trails with up to 200 m of high difference. Intended primarily for families with children, who can socialize and learn about natural and cultural heritage on the trails.
Trappist Trail
The Trappist Trail is a thematic trail that preserves the heritage of the Trappist monks, who grew vines on the slopes of Sremič and transported sweet wine to Rajhenburg Castle, where they settled in 1881. The trail is easy to medium difficulty and suitable for both families with children and experienced hikers. The circular trail is 12 km long and has a 425 m high difference. At the peaks, wonderful views of the Sava River valley and the surrounding hills await you. You can set off on an organized trail in the spring during the Posavje Hiking Festival or individually with the help of GPX tracks all days of the year.
Treking – highland
These are detours and multi-stage long-distance routes and one-day tours through the highlands which are of medium difficulty.

The Trappist Trail is a 12 km themed hiking route through vineyards, orchards, and forests, suitable for families and experienced hikers alike.
Cycling
Cycling routes follow the Sava River and wind through the sunny hills in the surrounding area. The destination Krško is also part of the Slovenian Green Gourmet Route. The picturesque landscape is the right choice for a trip, a short break or a real vacation.

The energy of culture
Let the picturesque facades of the old town speak to you and visit the mighty Rajhenburg Castle. Although Krško was named after the nearby Krka River, the longest Slovenian river, the Sava, flows past the old town. The city center of Krško is like a mysterious atom – small, but packed with interesting fragments of history and strong cultural energy.

Even today, in the renovated old town center, the buildings with their culture and historical content and stories speak of the colorful life and achievements of the past. Visit Krško City Museum (permanent and occasional museum exhibitions, events), Krško Gallery (temporary art exhibitions), Mencinger House, Hočevar Square, Valvasor Library Krško, Kapucin Monastery with a library, and City Park.
Learn about cultural heritage
Numerous churches and castles spread across the Krško region and its surroundings, inviting you to discover historical stories. To learn about cultural heritage, head to Rajhenburg Castle, which stands in an idyllic location with an even more beautiful view. The castle was built in the 12th century and is one of the pinnacles of Slovenian medieval architecture. In its premises, it offers a tour of the stories of the castle owners and reveals the mysterious life of the Trappist monks who managed it for almost 60 years. At that time, the Trappists made liqueurs, cheeses, chocolate, sparkling wine and much more. Near the castle stands the Basilica of Our Lady of Lourdes, also known as the Slovenian Lourdes, which is today one of the largest in Slovenia and is also the largest in Posavje. Also worth a visit is Raka-Arch Castle, which is considered one of the oldest medieval castles in Slovenia and boasts authentic inventory in more than 40 rooms.
Water adventures and adrenaline
Water adventures are offered by the Sava and Krka rivers, both for fishing and water sports. You can enjoy the pleasure of paddling on the slow-moving Krka River by renting a kayak, canoe, or larger boat. On hot days, in addition to paddling, you can also refresh yourself in the clean river at one of the well-maintained swimming pools in the company of locals. The Brestanica Fishing Club offers free bike rental and boat and fishing equipment rental for fishing on the Sava and Mačkovci Pond. The Brestanica Swimming Pool is known for its relaxed and pleasant atmosphere for all generations, and adrenaline enthusiasts should visit the Raceland Go-Kart Track.

The rich history and numerous preserved cultural objects with diverse messages testify to an attractive past.
