Vila Bianca, one of the most beautiful historic buildings in the old town centre of Velenje, stands at the foot of Velenje Castle and represents an important part of the city’s cultural heritage. Built in the second half of the 19th century in the spirit of Neo-Renaissance and Neo-Gothic architecture, it is today a modern, vibrant space where culture, tourism, and sustainability intertwine.
The villa is home to the Šaleška Valley Tourism Board and the Velenje Tourist Information Centre – the first point of contact for visitors to the destination. For this reason, Vila Bianca serves as a green role model for the Šaleška Valley. As a holder of the international Green Key certificate and a signatory of the Slovenia Green Commitment, it implements sustainability principles in its daily operations: efficient use of energy and water, waste separation and reduction, the use of environmentally friendly cleaning products, and continuous awareness-raising among employees and visitors.
Sustainability at Vila Bianca also means supporting the local community (through a boutique shop offering local products), promoting sustainable mobility (electric bike rental), and responsible event management. Vila Bianca is a place of experiences where heritage lives on with the future in mind.
